Teen arrested after threatening note found

A male youth is in custody after a threatening note against two local school boards was found.

Ontario Provincial Police said a concerned citizen had found a threatening note and reported it. Few details are being released, but police say the note contained threats against several schools in the Thames Valley District School Board, along with one in the Grand Erie District School Board.

OPP Constable Stacey Culbert said officers in Oxford County arrested a male late Monday afternoon.

The OPP said this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public, and reiterated that all threats are taken seriously.

The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending. Further details will be provided as they become available.

The Thames Valley District School Board confirmed via their Twitter account that a threat concerning the district was received.
