Woman charged after dog left in hot vehicle

A Straffordville woman has been charged after a dog was left locked in a hot vehicle in Simcoe.

The Ontario Provincial Police said on Tuesday around 3:30 p.m., officers were called to the Walmart parking lot on Queensway East by concerned citizens who noticed the dog had been left alone in the vehicle.

The dog initially appeared to be in distress and an officer was able to unlock one of the doors to allow air flow and check on the well-being of the animal.

The owner was then paged inside the store and returned to the vehicle.

Gloria Bolduc, 61, of Straffordville is now charged with leaving an animal unattended in a motor vehicle.
