Mail stolen from St. Thomas mailboxes

An investigation is underway after several St. Thomas residents reported that their mail had been stolen.

According to police, sometime between 9:30-11:00 p.m. on Saturday, approximately 75 mailboxes were pried open in the southeast end of St. Thomas and various types of mail were stolen. Residents are advised to also report stolen mail to Canada Post’s customer service department.

If mail with personal information is missing, the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre should be contacted to help prevent identity theft.

St. Thomas police are asking residents who see suspicious activity near mailboxes to contact them immediately or call 911.
