Woman sexually assaulted in unmarked taxi

London police are looking for a suspect after a woman was sexually assaulted while hitching a ride with what she thought was an unmarked taxi-cab.

The London Police Service said on Tuesday shortly after 2 a.m., a woman attempted to flag down a taxi on Richmond Street near Western Road and a black 4-door sedan stopped to pick her up.  The woman got into the vehicle believing it to be a cab, however, the driver became upset when she was unable to pay for the ride.

The male driver then drove the woman to a parking lot in the area of Dundas and Maitland streets, and sexually assaulted her.

The driver is described as a male with medium skin, between 6’0" - 6”3" tall, around 30-35 years of age, 200 pounds, with brown eyes, a small beard on his chin only, and he is balding on the top of his head with hair on the sides. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and jeans.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call the London Police Service at (519) 661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). Information can also be sent in on-line anonymously to www.londoncrimestoppers.com.
