Information sought in St. Thomas house fire

St. Thomas police would like to speak to anyone with information about a fire Friday.

Firefighters were called to a home on Alma St. around 9 a.m. on a report of a fire. It was determined that an unknown party set the front door to the house on fire.

The resident noticed something was wrong when smoke was seen entering the house. The fire was put out by the resident, who then notified authorities.

There were no injuries in the incident and damage to the front door and entranceway are estimated at about $1,000.

Police would like to talk to anybody who may have witnessed the incident or have further information. Anyone with tips is asked to call the St. Thomas police at (519) 631-1224.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
