Charges laid in east-London drug bust

A man and woman have been charged after London police turned up nearly $16,000 worth of cocaine in a raid in the east end.

Officers with the guns and drug sections, which is made up of London police, RCMP, and OPP, searched a home on Hamilton Rd., near Gore Rd. on Friday. Inside, officers seized 157 grams of cocaine, 5.5 grams of marijuana, 0.5 grams of hashish, and 76 five milligrams oxycodone tablets. The total value of the drugs is estimated to be roughly $16,140.

Police also found approximately $10,000 cash, scales, packaging, and cell phones.

A 30-year-old man and a 27-year-old woman, both of London, are charged with possession of a Schedule II substance and two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
