Charge laid after man scales construction crane

Police say a charge has been laid after a man climbed a construction crane in downtown London.

Officers were called to the area of King Street and Ridout Street around 7:15 p.m. Monday for a report of a man in distress. When they arrived, they found a man climbing a crane at a construction site. The Emergency Response Unit was called to the scene and members climbed the crane to help the man. When they spoke to him, it was determined he was not in distress. After several hours, officers helped the man get down from the crane and he was arrested.

A 31-year-old man, of no fixed address, is charged with mischief endangering life.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
