Man climbs construction crane

London police responded to a report of a man in distress in the city's downtown area and, when they arrived, they found that a man had climbed a construction crane.

Police officers, firefighters and EMS were called to the area of King and Ridout streets around 7:15 p.m. on Monday.

The London Police Service is not releasing much information at this time but several posts on social media said a man had climbed to the top of a construction crane.

Police closed King Street west of Ridout Street as a result.

Just before 1 a.m., police announced that the situation had been resolved peacefully.
