Stolen ashes returned to grieving mother

The stolen ashes of a young boy have been returned to the child's mother.

London police said the Comfort Cub, a teddy bear with an urn inside, was found early Friday morning.

The bear was inside of a backpack that was snatched from a parking lot at 1960 Dundas St., east of Clarke Road Wednesday evening.

Police advised the public of the theft Thursday, which led a woman to find the bear and personally return it to its rightful owner. While a few other stolen items were also recovered, the backpack itself has not been located.
