Update: Charges laid after woman shot

A woman is in critical condition after being shot in London.

Police say they responded to a report of a shooting Saturday at 10:40 p.m.  London Police said the incident occurred on Blackfriars Street.

According to police, they found an adult female with a gunshot wound when they arrived. They added she was transported to the hospital by EMS and is currently in critical condition.

Police said a man was arrested at the scene and is in custody. A firearm has been located and there is no further threat to public safety.

Andrew Simpson, 29, of London is charged with one count of criminal negligence causing bodily harm and one count of careless use of a firearm.

An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Police ask anyone with information regarding this incident to call the the London Police Service or Crime Stoppers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
