Spitfires shutout Knights 2-0

The London Knights fell 2-0 to the Windsor Spitfires in OHL action on Thursday.

Curtis Douglas scored 13:56 into the first period to put Windsor on the board. After a scoreless second period, Cole Purboo added another goal for the Spitfires 14:21 into the third to cap off the shutout win.

Spitfires goaltender Michael DiPietro made 32 saves, while London goalie Joseph Raaymakers made 26 saves out of 28 shots on net.

The Knights will look to bounce back on Friday on home ice when they take on the Owen Sound Attack at 7:30 p.m.  The Spitfires will battle the Hamilton Bulldogs at the WFCU Centre at 2:05 p.m on Sunday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
