OPP identify motorcycle crash victim

Provincial police have identified a 38-year-old motorcyclist killed in a crash south of Tillsonburg.

Matthew Allan Zwiep of Tillsonburg was fatally injured when his southbound motorcycle crossed over the centre line and collided head-on with a northbound SUV on Norfolk County Rd. 30 just after 5:30 a.m. on Thursday. Zwiep was ejected from the bike and hit a tree. He was rushed to hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the SUV, a 35-year-old Norfolk County man, suffered minor injuries.

Norfolk County Rd. 30 between Goshen Rd. and Plowman's Line was closed for roughly 5 hours while police technical collision investigators were on scene.

The investigation is on-going, police said.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
