Motorcyclist dead in London crash

London police say a motorcyclist is dead following a collision near Western University.

The motorcycle was heading south on Western Rd., south of Platts Lane around 6:45 p.m. on Monday when it hit a deer. The driver, a 34-year-old London man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is not being released until family are notified.

Western Rd. was closed between Platts Lane and Hollywood Cres. for roughly four hours. It was re-opened around 11 p.m.

The investigation is on-going.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
