Woman airlifted to hospital after late night crash in Norfolk County

An 18-year-old Oxford County woman is fighting for her life in a London hospital after a serious crash in Norfolk County overnight.

The OPP said they were called to the scene on Orange Hall Road in Middleton at around 11:45 p.m. Monday.

Police said at this point, the investigation shows that the woman was driving south on Orange Hall Road when her vehicle went off the road and into the ditch, eventually hitting a tree.

Officers said the driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to a local hospital first, then airlifted to a London-area hospital for further treatment.

Police have closed off Orange Hall Road between Plowman's Line and Colonel Talbot Road as the investigation continues.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
