Canada Post rotating strike reaches London

London has become the latest city to be affected by rotating strikes by postal workers.

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers says its members in London will be off the job Monday. Postal workers in Brantford, Guelph, Simcoe, Fort Erie, St. Catharines, Barrie, and Scarborough also joined the rotating strikes Monday.

"Mail and parcels will not be delivered or picked up in impacted areas while the union continues their strike activity," Canada Post said in a statement. "We thank our customers for their continued patience and apologize for the inconvenience this is causing."

The union had opted for rotating strikes to minimize the impact of a postal disruption on customers.

Negotiations between Canada Post and CUP-W have been going on for approximately 10 months.
