St. Thomas convenience store robbed at knifepoint

St. Thomas police are looking for a suspect after an armed robbery at the Mac's convenience store on Talbot St.

A man walked into the store, pulled a knife and demanded money from the clerk just before 8:30 p.m. on Sunday. The clerk put the cash from the register into a bag and handed it to the man. He then took off in a white pick-up truck.

The clerk wasn't hurt in the robbery.

Police found the truck abandoned on Chippewa Rd. in Muncey. It had been reported stolen earlier in the day from the Strathroy-Caradoc area. The suspect is described as a Caucasian man, 18-20 years of age, 5’8'' to 5’10'', with a medium build, smooth skin, and small eyes. He was wearing a light coloured hoodie with dark jogger pants.

Anyone with information about this robbery is asked to call police at 519-631-1224 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
