Search of stolen truck turns up replica firearm

London police seized a replica firearm inside a stolen pickup truck as part of an investigation that shut down a west-end street for several hours Thursday.

Police had received information that there was a gun was inside of the vehicle that was spotted outside of a home on Forward Ave. around 2:30 p.m.

Six hours later, officers armed with a search warrant, moved in on the vehicle, seizing a replica gun, several bicycles, and a small motorcycle.

Arrest warrants have been issued for a 26-year-old Ilderton man and a 24-year-old London woman in relation to the incident.

The Ilderton man is charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and breach of probation. The London woman is charged with failing to comply with recognizance.

Another man was arrested in connection with an OPP investigation and has been turned over to that police force.

The investigation is on-going.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
