UPDATE: Charges laid in pedestrian hit-and-run

A 21-year-old London man has been charged in connection with a pedestrian collision Friday night.

London police say officers responded to a report of a pedestrian being hit shortly after 7 p.m. at Adelaide St. N. and Little Simcoe St.

The victim is in hospital with what were originally classified by police as serious injuries. As of Saturday morning, their condition was listed as critical.

The driver, identified by police as Theodore Bui, was arrested and charged with leaving the scene of an accident that caused bodily harm. This charge has yet to be proven in court.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
