Driver dies in Zorra Township crash

A head-on crash involving a transport truck has claimed the life of one person in Zorra Township.

According to Oxford OPP, shortly before 3 p.m. Wednesday, a car travelling west on Road 84 lost control and collided head-on with an eastbound transport truck and trailer.  The crash happened between 25th Line and 27th Line.

The male driver of the car, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is not being released until next of kin have been notified.

The male driver of the transport truck was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
