High school bomb threat a 'hoax'

A bomb threat made against North Middlesex District High School was fake, according to provincial police.

OPP officers were called to the school in Parkhill on Thursday after a student showed a staff member what appeared to be a bomb threat against the school on social media. While the school day had already finished, the remaining students were asked to leave the school.

Middlesex OPP announced on Friday afternoon that the threat was a hoax. An investigation led to the arrest of a youth, who is now charged with two counts of mischief.

Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
