Fatal crash in Zorra Township

One person is dead and two people remain in the hospital after a single-vehicle crash Saturday night.

The collision happened on the 19th Line of Zorra Township around 11 p.m. Police say the vehicle left the roadway and entered the west ditch. The vehicle struck a hydro pole and then collided with a tree.

All three male occupants were taken to a local area hospital where the 21-year-old male driver of Ingersoll was pronounced dead.

19th Line between Road 66 and 17th Line was closed for several hours as OPP investigated. Speed and alcohol are being considered as contributing factors and the investigation is ongoing.

The name of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
