Lightning escape Highlanders 104-102

It took a gutsy shot to bring the London Lightning a win on the Maritime coast Sunday afternoon.

Xavier Moon put up a three-point shot with 3.4 seconds left in regulation to push London to a 104-102 win over the Highlanders at Cape Breton. The win improves the Lightning's record to 2-1 on the season and a third-place showing in the NBL Canada standings.

Marvin Phillips led the Lightning offensively with 18 points. Garrett Williamson followed with 15, and Mo Bolden sank an additional 14 points.

It was a tight contest for much of the afternoon, but the Lightning were able to knuckle down defensively and keep the game close.

The Lightning are back in action Thursday evening, when they continue their east coast trip and visit the Saint John Riptide.
