UPDATE: Stabbing victim, suspect identified

London police have identified a suspect in a fatal early morning stabbing.

Police were called to a home on Hamilton Road near Rectory Street around 12:10 a.m. Saturday after a caller to 911 reported a stabbing. A man was found suffering from stab wounds and was rushed to hospital. However, he was later pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified by police as Jordan Melo, 21, of London.

Police said Saturday afternoon that a second man was taken into custody. Adriano Simoes, 22, also of London, has been charged with one count of first degree murder. He made a court appearance Saturday via video and has been remanded into custody pending another appearance.
