Teen stabbed during fight

Police are investigating after a 17-year-old was slashed with an "edge weapon" during a house fight on the Chippewas of the Thames First Nation.

Officers with the OPP and Oneida Nation of the Thames First Nation Police Service were called to the home around 6 p.m. on Tuesday. The investigation found a teen boy was hurt by the weapon during an altercation involving an unspecified number of people.

The 17-year-old was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A suspect has been identified in relation to the incident. The victim and suspect do know each other and there is no concern for public safety, according to police.
