London police say they have a suspect in custody after eight student apartments were broken into in the span of one hour.

Police were called early Sunday morning after a man awoke to find that electronics had been stolen from his apartment. Investigators looked at surveillance video from the apartment building and discovered that a total of eight break-ins had occurred between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m..

According to police, the video showed a man trying to open doors of several apartments, and entering ones that were unlocked.

Police were able to obtain an address for a suspect and officers watched the home until a man, who was wearing the same clothing as the man in the apartment video, returned. Officers arrested a London man, who is now charged with seven counts of break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offence and one count of break and enter and commit theft.

Police are reminding people to lock their doors at night to prevent being victimized by thieves.
