A 26-year-old man faces several charges after police seized nearly $1,000 in drugs, including the deadly narcotic fentanyl.

The St. Thomas Police Service said officers arrested a man on Monday around 8 p.m. According to police, they seized crystal methamphetamine and purple fentanyl. Police did not say where the bust happened.

Purple fentanyl, a substance described as having the consistency of play dough, has been seized in other jurisdictions and found to be a mixture of heroin and fentanyl or carfentanil.
