One hurt in transport truck crash

A crash involving a pair of transport trucks near Dorchester sent one person to hospital on Thursday.

According to Middlesex OPP, a tractor trailer was heading north on Elgin Road between Hamilton Road and Slo Pitch Road when it crossed over the centre line and collided with a southbound transport around 8 a.m. One of the drivers had to be cut from the wreckage. He was taken to hospital with minor injures.

Hydro One crews were called to the scene to repair power lines taken out in the collision.

The stretch of Elgin Road was closed for several hours as a result of the crash. It was re-opened around 12 p.m.

Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to give them a call at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
