UPDATE: Man charged in break and enter, assault

London police have charged a man who allegedly broke into a home and assaulted a woman who was inside.

The break-in happened around 4:45 a.m. on Boxing Day at a home on Ashland Avenue.

According to police, the man gained access to the residence through an unopened window.

Police said a woman inside the house was awake at the time. The intruder hit her with an object and touched her in an inappropriate manner. She sustained minor injuries.

Investigators identified the suspect as Kevin Kryhorak, 32, of London. He is accused of break-and-enter with intent to commit sexual assault, break-and-enter with intent to commit theft, mischief under $5000 and failure to comply with terms of recognizance.

He is being held in custody and will have a chance to respond to the charges in court on Wednesday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
