Lightning top Magic 109-107 in OT

The London Lightning beat the Moncton Magic 109-107 in overtime on Thursday.

The two teams were neck and neck in the first quarter with London scoring late in the frame to tie things up at 26-26. It was another close quarter in the second with Moncton inching ahead by one point as the game entered halftime.

The Magic held a 75-71 lead at the end of the third quarter, but the Lightning were able to able to tie the game at 96-96 to force overtime after a back-and-forth final frame.

London was able to take the lead in the extra quarter and hold onto a narrow two-point lead for the win.

Maurice Bolden led London with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Marcus Capers and Anthony Gaines Jr. put up 15 points apiece.

The Lightning are headed to Sudbury on Friday to take on the Five at 7 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
