Greyhounds outrun Knights 5-4 in OT

The London Knights dropped a 5-4 overtime decision to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds on Friday.

Nathan Dunkley kicked things off for London with a goal 12:29 into the first period, but the Greyhounds tied things up with a goal of their own in the final seconds of the frame.

London retook the lead with a goal by Matvey Guskov 2:01 into the second, but the Soo scored two back-to-back goals to gain a 3-2 advantage heading into the third.

Kevin Hancock kept things tied by scoring for London 3:42 into the third, however, the Greyhounds fought to retake the lead and scored just after the ten-minute mark. Alec Regula tied the game again with a goal late in the frame to force OT, but the Greyhounds scored 2:25 into the extra time to seal their victory.

London goaltender Jordan Kooy made 24 saves out of 29 shots on net.

The Knights will look to bounce back on Tuesday when they take on the Guelph Storm. The puck drops at 7 p.m in London.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
