Lightning defeat Sudbury 100-93

Jaylen Babb-Harrison scored 24 points as the London Lightning beat the Sudbury Five 100-93 Sunday at Budweiser Gardens.

It was the third straight win for the Lightning, who are now even with an 8-8 record on the season.

The Lightning held a slight edge in scoring throughout the first half, leading by five after the first quarter, then posting a 49-38 lead by halftime. Sudbury regained some momentum in the third quarter, outscoring London 30-22, but the Lightning's lead was enough for the victory.

Xavier Moon added 19 points for London, making seven out of ten in field goals. Marvin Phillips sank an additional 17 points, and also co-led the Lightning defensively with Marcus Capers at seven rebounds apiece.

For Sudbury, Cory Dixon led all scorers with 26 points, including eight out of ten free throws. He also led in defence with 16 rebounds. Devin Gilligan added 24 points off the bench with nine boards, and Braylon Rayson collected 15 points.

The Lightning next welcome Cape Breton to the WFCU Centre on Thursday night.
