Stabbing leaves 25-year-old man dead

A London man is now charged with murder after the city's first homicide of 2019.

Police received a 911 call about a stabbing just before 7 p.m. Sunday at an address on Notre Dame Drive. When they arrived, they found an injured man. He was taken to hospital by ambulance and pronounced dead.

The deceased man has been identified as Nicholas Anthony Baltzis, 25, of London.

Police made an arrest not far from the scene of the stabbing. Karl Hallman, 28, of London is charged with second degree murder.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
