Crash sends two to hospital

A 58-year-old driver is accused of running a red light and causing a crash that sent two people to hospital in St. Thomas.

Two vehicles collided in the intersection at Elgin Street and Wellington Street around 12:30 p.m. on Monday. According to St. Thomas police, a vehicle heading south on Elgin ran a red light and collided with a vehicle travelling west on Wellington.

The drivers of both vehicles were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 58-year-old man is charged with failure to stop for a red light.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
