Lightning fall 129-122 to Highlanders in OT

The London Lightning lost a hard-fought game to the Cape Breton Highlanders 129-122 in overtime on Thursday.

The Lightning took four-point advantage in the first quarter, but the Highlanders fought back in the second for a 61-47 lead heading into halftime.

Cape Breton kept ahead of London in the third and held a 92-81, but a back-and-forth fourth frame saw London tie things up at 114-114. An extra five minutes of overtime ended the game in favour of the Highlanders with London falling with a seven-point deficit

Maurice Bolden was the lead scorer for London with 29 points and six rebounds, while Alex Johnson added another 20 points and five assists. Marvin Phillips also put up 19 points and had five assists.

The Lightning will look to rebound in Windsor on Saturday when they take on the Express at 7 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
