London man charged in Strathroy Wal-Mart robbery

Tips from the public helped Strathroy-Caradoc police nab a suspect wanted in relation to an armed robbery at the local Wal-Mart.

Police had been searching for a suspect since a man threatened a store employee with an unspecified weapon before taking off with over $2,000 worth of merchandise around 6 p.m. on January 6. All of the stolen goods were found by police. They believe the suspect dropped the items while making his getaway.

Following the robbery, police released three surveillance images of a suspect in the case.

Through information from the public, police were able to identify a suspect and issued an arrest warrant for a 40-year-old London man last Friday. The man was arrested with the help of London police on Tuesday.

He is charged with robbery and will appear in London court in February.
