School bus hits pedestrian in Simcoe

Charges are pending after a school bus carrying 20 children hit a pedestrian in Simcoe.

An 18-year-old man was walking across Norfolk Street North when he was struck by a school bus that was turning onto the street from Robinson Street just before 9 a.m Thursday. The man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the bus, a 67-year-old Kitchener man, and the 20 children on board were not hurt.

Norfolk OPP said the man was within the crosswalk when the collision happened. The investigation into the crash is ongoing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
