Dog uninjured after rollover crash

A dog named Bandit is lucky to be alive after the pickup truck he was in was involved in a rollover crash in Delhi.

The collision occurred on Friday shortly before 4 p.m., on Church Street West.  Norfolk County OPP officials said the vehicle came to a rest on its side and speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash.

Police said firefighters had to cut the roof off the truck to remove the 37-year-old male driver who was then taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries.

A dog in the vehicle at the time of the crash was not hurt but was very scared following the incident. Emergency crews provided the dog food and water until the owner was able to claim the pet.

Police said charges are pending in connection with the crash.
