Knights trample Spitfires 7-3

The Windsor Spitfires dropped a 7-3 decision to the London Knights at the WFCU Centre on Thursday.

Antonio Stranges and Cole Tymkin both scored in the first period to give the Knights the advantage heading into the second, where Kevin Hancock and Liam Foudy each scored to bring London's lead to 4-0 heading into the final frame.

The Spitfires made it onto the board early in the third with Will Cuylle scoring twice, but Paul Cotter added another to make it 5-2 for the Knights.  Connor Corcoran scored Windsor's third goal of the night, however, the Knights were quick to respond with Billy Moskal scoring two back-to-back goals in the final three minutes to cap off London's win.

The Knights also outshot the Spitfires 34-26.

The two teams will face off again on Friday. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. at Budweiser Gardens.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
