Knights blank Spitfires 7-0

The London Knights hammered the Windsor Spitfires in a 7-0 shutout victory on Friday.

The Knights took a strong 3-0 lead in the first period with Liam Foudy, Kevin Hancock and Connor McMichael scoring back-to-back goals, and both Evan Bouchard and Alec Regula scored in the second to add another two goals to London's lead.

London continued to hold off Windsor in the final frame with Matvey Guskov and Antonio Stranges each scoring once for the Knights to cap off the win.

Knights goalie Joseph Raaymakers made 22 saves, and Spitfires goalie Kari Piiroinen made 26.

The Spitfires will look to bounce back on Sunday when they take on the Niagara IceDogs at 1 p.m.  Also on Sunday, the Knights face off against the Oshawa Generals at 6:05 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
