Six people charged in $100K drug busts

Six people face drug trafficking charges after raids by London police turned up more than $103,000 worth of cocaine, fentanyl, and methamphetamine.

In two separate investigations, police searched a vehicle and four homes on Reeves Avenue, Fanshawe Park Road East, Elliott Street, and Millbank Drive Thursday afternoon. Officers found 120.5 grams of fentanyl, 22 grams of methamphetamine, fentanyl patches, a round of rifle ammunition, a taser, scales, packaging, a money counter, and $30,000 cash at the Millbank Drive home.

Searches of the other three homes and vehicle turned up 386 grams of cocaine, 55 grams of fentanyl, digital scales, a quantity of jewellery, cash, and a 2013 BMW 328.

Four London men and two London women, ranging in age from 21 to 39, are charged with possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.

The 39-year-old man is additionally charged with possession of prohibited ammunition and unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon.

The 21-year-old man and 25-year-old woman also face one count each of unauthorized possession of a restricted weapon.

All six of those charged are scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges at a later date.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
