Fuel spill forces 401 closure

A stretch of the westbound 401 in London had to be closed Wednesday afternoon after a tanker truck started leaking fuel.

Police announced just after 3 p.m. that the westbound 401 had been closed between Highway 402 and Colonel Talbot Road due to the spill. According to police, a tanker truck started leaking fuel in the westbound lanes just west of the 402 cutoff.

Traffic was detoured off the 401 at Highway 402 during the closure.
