Knights edge Firebirds 4-3

The London Knights topped the Flint Firebirds 4-3 on Wednesday to earn their fourth straight win.

The Firebirds scored 7:53 into the game and held a 1-0 lead throughout the first period.   Liam Foudy put London on the board with two back-to-back goals in the first half of the second period, but Flint was quick to add one of their own 10:39 into the period to tie the game.  Connor McMichael scored with just under five minutes left in the second to put the Knights back in the lead.

Gerard Keane added another goal 4:03 into the third to give the Knights 4-2 lead. The Firebirds scored with 11 seconds left in the game to cut the Knights' lead to one.

London goaltender Joseph Raaymakers made 36 saves out of 39 shots on net.

The Knights return home on Friday to take on the Barrie Colts at 7:30 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
