Man suffers multiple wounds in east-end shooting

One man has been arrested in connection with an early morning shooting that left another man with multiple gunshot wounds in east London.

A citizen called 911 after hearing what he believed were gunshots in the area of Florence Street and Kellogg Lane around 1:15 a.m. on Monday. Officers arrested a man at the scene. He remains in police custody.

A gun was also recovered, said police, who also reassured there is no threat to public safety.

A man with several gunshot wounds was taken to hospital where he has since been treated and released.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing. Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call police at 519-661-5670 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
