Pedestrian dies in Aylmer

Police in Aylmer are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a pick-up truck and killed Saturday morning.

It happened around 10 a.m. on Talbot Street West between Caverly Road and Rutherford Avenue. The victim was taken to St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

The victim's name has not been released at this time and no charges have been announced.

Talbot Street West will remain closed for several hours while police continue to investigate. Any witnesses are asked to contact them with information.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
