Knights defeated by Saginaw Spirit 4-1

The London Knights just couldn't keep up, losing to the Saginaw Spirit 4-1 in OHL action on Saturday.

The Spirit's Cole Perfetti was on a roll, as he scored the first goal of the game early on in the first period at 3:41 and the second goal in the third period, at 5:32. With five minutes left the Knights trailed, but answered back with a goal in the third period, scored by Cole Tymkin.

All hope for a comeback by the Knights was gone, as Cole Perfetti immediately fired back with not one, but two more goals, taking advantage of an empty net and pushing the Spirit into a three-point lead and winning the game.

London goaltender Joseph Raaymakers made 19 saves out of 22 shots on net, while the Spirit's Ivan Prosvetov made 47 saves out of 48 shots on net.

The Knights will face off against the Guelph Storm on March 13t at 7 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
