UPDATE: One dead after crash on 402

Provincial police say one person is dead after a single-vehicle crash on Highway 402.

Police said a female driver died after a grey SUV that was heading eastbound on the 402 at around 2 a.m. on Monday, left the road near Glendon Drive, hit the overpass, and came to a rest in the center median.

The driver's name has not been released yet as next of kin are still being notified.

Middlesex County OPP shut down the highway between Hickory Drive and Longwoods Road early Monday morning, but tweeted that the highway was fully re-opened shortly before 7:30 a.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
