Man charged in Money Mart robbery

Charges have been laid in a knife-point robbery at the Money Mart in south London.

London police began investigating after a man approached a cashier at the cash advance business on Wellington Road South after 7 p.m. Friday, pulled a knife and demanded money.

Officers determined the same man had been refused service at the same business 90 minutes earlier after providing a false name. When he returned later he was wearing a disguise, police said.

Using video footage from the Money Mart and a local casino, police were able to identify and arrest a suspect without incident on Saturday.

A 30-year-old London man is charged with armed robbery and wearing a disguise with intent.

He was scheduled to appear in London court in relation to the charges on Monday.
