Inquest called into worker's death in Sarnia

A coroner's inquest will be held into the death of man at a roofing construction project in Sarnia in 2016.

Michael Ikeno, 28, of London died on July 7, 2016 of complications from injuries sustained in a fall February 27, 2016.

The regional supervising coroner for West Region, Dr. Rick Mann, said Wednesday that an inquest is scheduled to begin Monday, June 10, 2019 at the Stoneridge Inn and Conference Centre in London.

The inquest, which will examine the circumstances surrounding Ikeno's death, is expected to last five days and hear from about 13 witnesses.

Dr. Elizabeth Urbantke will preside as inquest coroner, and a jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing future deaths.
