Puppies with paws tied found dead

Provincial police in Norfolk County are investigating after a woman out for a walk found six dead puppies with their paws tied together.

The woman was walking her dog through a "restricted area" on Hume Street in Simcoe around 9:30 a.m. Friday when she made the gruesome discovery.

"The puppies have been here for quite some time. They are in an advance state of decomposition," Constable Ed Sanchuk said in a video posted to the OPP's Twitter page.

Sanchuk confirmed the rear legs of the puppies were bound together.

"Anyone with information, [who] may have known somebody who recently had a litter of puppies -- five or six of them -- and they don't know what happened to those puppies, they are being urged to contact Crime Stoppers or the OPP," added Sanchuk.
