Drug-laced edibles send teens to hospital

A pair of teens in Oxford County had to be rushed to hospital after eating food that is believed to have been laced with drugs.

The two teenaged girls ingested food at an East Zorra-Tavistock Township address on Saturday shortly before 9:44 p.m., which caused them to "cry hysterically and act in a violent manner," according to police.

Both teens were taken to hospital by ambulance to be treated. It is unknown what drug was ingested and if it was taken intentionally.

The Ontario Provincial Police said officers are continuing to investigate the incident and anyone with information is asked to call police at 1-888-310-1122. Should you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
